问合同是否成立以及原因。首先题目告诉我们Jackson是一个merchant，根据merchant"s firm offer，这个offer是不能撤销的irrevocable。如果对方在规定的时间内或者如果没有规定时间那么在合理地时间内（一般3个月）接受了这个offer，那么合同就是成立的，本题中Jackson的offer没有说时间，所以Sands发出acceptance就表明合同成立了。
